The USA Air Force orders 15 Silent Arrow cargo drones

Silent Arrow announced that it has won a small business innovation research (SBIR) phase 2 contract from the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), which will scale down and redesign the GD-2000 disposable gliding drone into a new one Silent Arrow Precision Guided Bundle (SA-PGB) cargo drone, and manufactures and delivers 15 such drones.

The cargo drone is about 10 meter long, has a maximum take-off weight of 226 kg, and a payload capacity of 160 kg. It can be launched at high altitude by a variety of transport aircraft (such as C-17).
