Milrem Robotics and foam fire extinguishing technology expert InnoVfoam have launched Multiscope Rescue Hydra, a UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) designed to provide fire fighting capabilities. The jointly developed solution combines Milrem Robotics' Multiscope Rescue robotic vehicle with InnoVfoam's Hydra fire monitor and foam proportional system.


The fire UGV can be operated remotely by firefighters at a safe distance, while receiving a complete overview of the operating area through thermal imaging and infrared cameras and on-board sensors that can detect gas or chemical leaks. The vehicle can also be used to transport heavy-duty fire hoses and to reach areas where larger vehicles cannot enter or may collapse on firefighters and enter buildings. Vehicles can also be airdropped to forest or landscape fire locations to help limit the spread.

UGV's fire monitor can dispense water and foam at a volume of 2000 to 20,000 liters per minute. Thanks to the independent camera on the UGV and the monitor, it can be operated independently of the vehicle, allowing changes in position while maintaining a perfect view of the fire. The system can also be supplemented by additional fire protection and suppression systems as well as autonomous functions. The Multiscope Rescue UGV has a maximum payload capacity of 1200 kg and a pull force of 15,000 N, enabling it to be equipped with various fire-specific payloads such as foam and water tanks. It can also be integrated with tethered UAV systems to enhance situational awareness.
